Rhema Law Successfully Concludes Patent Infringement Case
June 6, 2012– Rhema Law Group, P.C. (“Rhema Law”) successfully concluded an action on behalf of its’ client, Best Buy, against a patent infringement lawsuit filed by Plaintiff Piao Shang Industry in regards to U.S. Patent No. 5,305,381 ( the “‘381 Patent”) on technology covering mobile device cradles. Several popular Best Buy brands “Rocketfish” and “Dynex” models were at issue. From the outset, Best Buy denied any and all claims of infringement and challenged the validity and enforceability of the ‘381 patent.
At pre-trial, both parties resolved their differences in a confidential settlement agreement wherein Best Buy admitted no liability and kept all rights to continue sell its popular “Rocketfish” and “Dynex” brand of mobile device cradles without interruption. “Though confident that a jury would see things our way in regards to non-infringement and invalidity, we are pleased to resolve the differences prior to Trial on terms very favorable to our clients” stated Rhema Partner and Trial Counsel, John D. Tran.
