On behalf of the firm’s client, Son Fish Sauce USA, the firm has obtained a summary judgment victory for non-trademark infringement in the matter of Sunsauce Foods Industrial vs, Son Fish Sauce USA in the Northern District Court of California.
Plaintiff Sunsauce Foods Industrial sued the firm’s client, Son Fish Sauce USA in Federal Court in the Northern District of California for trademark infringement with regards to the alleged confusion between Plaintiff’s “Sunsauce,” brand of sauces vs Son Fish Sauce’s “Son Fish Sauce,” brand of Fish Sauces, attempting to prevent and interfere with Son Fish Sauce’s continued use and expansion of its popular “Son Fish Sauce/Son Sauce” brand of fish sauces.
The firm’s trial team lead by Partners John D. Tran and Rosalind T. Ong, successfully litigated the matter and prevailed whereby having the Court grant the firm’s motion for summary judgment for non-infringement for lack of likelihood of confusion between the parties’ marks. The summary judgment victory resulted in the Plaintiff eventually dismissing the case with prejudice. This was a signficant victory to solidify Son Fish Sauce’s rights in its “Son Fish Sauce/Son Sauce,” brand of fish sauces.
